HUITM 2026 Expands Global Reach to Six Countries, Elevating the Islamic Tourism Industry

INTERNATIONAL UMRAH AND TOURISM EXHIBITION 2026 STRENGTHENS THE GLOBAL ISLAMIC TOURISM ECOSYSTEM ACROSS SIX COUNTRIES

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – The International Umrah and Tourism Exhibition 2026 (HUITM) is set to play a significant role in strengthening the global Islamic tourism ecosystem by bringing together key stakeholders from the Umrah, Hajj, and Islamic tourism industries worldwide, with strong participation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This large-scale international initiative serves as a strategic platform that connects major service providers, travel operators, and industry partners, fostering long-term collaboration and expanding global market access.

Organised by HUITM (Hajj and Umrah International Travel Market) with strategic support from the ASEAN Federation of Umrah and Hajj (AFUH), the exhibition and workshow build on the success of previous editions held in Türkiye, Uzbekistan, and Belgium. Guided by the belief that success begins with selecting the right platform, Malaysia has been chosen as the opening destination for HUITM 2026, reflecting its position as a leading Islamic tourism hub and a strategic centre for the global Hajj and Umrah industry.

In 2026, HUITM will further expand its international footprint through a series of exhibitions and workshows across six countries, reinforcing its standing as a premier global platform for Islamic tourism and pilgrimage travel. The international roadshow will commence in Malaysia on 18 June 2026, followed by Indonesia on 23 June 2026, Uzbekistan on 27–28 June 2026, Morocco on 2 July 2026, Türkiye on 11–12 July 2026, and conclude in Kazakhstan on 13 September 2026. This multi-country approach demonstrates HUITM’s commitment to strengthening cross-border collaboration and opening new market opportunities for industry players across diverse regions.

The International Umrah and Tourism Workshow 2026 is specifically designed as a professional business-to-business platform that directly connects service providers from Saudi Arabia and international destinations with regional and local industry players. It brings together Umrah and tourism companies, international hotel groups, airlines, destination management companies, visa processing and tourism technology providers, transportation operators, as well as marketing agencies and digital solution providers supporting the industry ecosystem.

Through this platform, HUITM aims to strengthen global collaboration within the Umrah and Islamic tourism sector, facilitate business negotiations and strategic partnerships, and support digital transformation and service innovation. The initiative also enables local companies to engage directly with Saudi-based service providers while gaining access to broader international markets, enhancing their competitiveness in an increasingly globalised industry.

The Malaysia Edition of the International Umrah and Tourism Workshow 2026 will be held on 18 June 2026 at the InterContinental Kuala Lumpur, from 10.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. This one-day event will feature structured workshow sessions, professional networking opportunities, and curated business matching programmes designed to meet the evolving needs of industry professionals. Malaysia is widely recognised as a strategic gateway to the ASEAN Islamic tourism market, further reinforcing its role as a regional hub for Umrah and Islamic travel services.

The ASEAN Federation of Umrah and Hajj (AFUH) is among the key Malaysian organisations supporting HUITM, playing an important role in the development of the Hajj and Umrah industry and in strengthening strategic cooperation at both regional and international levels. Dato’ Seri Dr. Mohd Khalid Harun, President of AFUH, noted that Malaysia has long been recognised as a major hub for Islamic tourism and Umrah services. He emphasised that AFUH’s support for HUITM aligns with the federation’s mission to enhance professionalism, innovation, and global connectivity within the Islamic tourism industry, while opening new opportunities for Malaysian travel agencies to penetrate international markets, particularly in Saudi Arabia and Central Asia.

More than an exhibition, the International Umrah and Tourism Workshow 2026 serves as a strategic bridge connecting local markets with global expertise. Through its organisation across six countries, the initiative is committed to strengthening collaborative networks, creating new business opportunities, and enhancing the overall quality and competitiveness of the global Islamic tourism industry. The organisers welcome the participation of industry leaders, strategic partners, and stakeholders to jointly build a more integrated, resilient, and competitive Umrah and Islamic tourism ecosystem at the international level.

Among the distinguished attendees were Mr. Hakan Sahin, Managing Director and Exhibition Organiser; Ahmad Mahmud Fita Kita Iskandar, Official Representative of ASEAN; His Excellency Dr. Karomidin Gadoev, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Malaysia; Mr. Sherzod Sami, President of the Association UZSAA; and Dato’ Seri Dr. Mohd Khalid Harun, President of the ASEAN Federation of Umrah and Hajj (AFUH).
