The 20th Malaysia International Branding Showcase (MIBS 2025): Malaysia’s Gateway to Global Brands and Cross-Border Trade
Malaysia International Branding Showcase (MIBS 2025): Connecting Heritage with Global Trade
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – December 2025
The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) is set to transform into a global business hub this 4th to 6th December 2025, as it plays host to one of Malaysia’s most anticipated international trade events — the 20th Malaysia International Branding Showcase (MIBS 2025).
Spanning Halls 2, 3, 4, and 5, this milestone edition marks two decades of MIBS as a powerful platform uniting brands, entrepreneurs, and innovators from across Asia and beyond — all under one roof.
A Collaborative Effort for Global Impact
MIBS 2025 is more than just an exhibition — it’s a collaboration of vision and industry strength.
This year’s event is co-organized by several leading associations:
- Malaysia Promas International Business Society (PROMAS)
- ASEAN Malaysia China Development Chamber
- Federation of Textiles General Goods & Garments Association Malaysia
- Dewan Perniagaan Usahawan Malaysia (DPUM)
The event also receives strong endorsement from the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and support from the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), as well as the Malaysia Hakka Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Event management is proudly handled by ES International Event Management Sdn Bhd, ensuring world-class execution from start to finish.
Press Conference: A Glimpse Into the Future
The official press launch of MIBS 2025 aims to reveal the event’s key highlights, themes, and international participation.
But what truly makes this year’s edition stand out is the introduction of the World Hakka Expo Pavilion — a special feature that merges cultural heritage with modern trade innovation.
This pavilion is not only a celebration of the global Hakka community but also a statement that tradition and business can thrive together in today’s borderless economy.
Lady Puan Sri Dr. Susan Cheah: “MIBS 2025 is a Gateway to Global Opportunities”
In her inspiring address, Lady Puan Sri Dr. Susan Cheah, Honorary Life President of PROMAS, expressed her pride in the journey that has brought MIBS to its 20th year:
“It is both an honour and a privilege to extend a warm welcome to each of you to the 20th Malaysia International Branding Showcase press conference today.
MIBS 2025 is more than just a showcase of products and services; it is a gateway to global opportunities — a vital platform for business matching, brand expansion, and cross-border partnerships.”
She also reflected on the broader mission behind MIBS:
“Through our collaboration with China and international partners, PROMAS remains steadfast in bridging Malaysian enterprises with global buyers, investors, and distributors. These exchanges build enduring relationships that spark innovation, inspire collaboration, and strengthen economic ties.”
Celebrating two decades of growth, Lady Puan Sri Dr. Susan Cheah emphasized that MIBS continues to champion international branding, innovation, and digital transformation, and remains committed to empowering local SMEs and promoting Malaysia as a leading trade hub within ASEAN.
She concluded with a heartfelt invitation:
“I look forward to welcoming all of you to KLCC from 4th to 6th December 2025 — where innovation meets opportunity, and where brands connect with the world.”
“A very good afternoon to all distinguished guests, organizers, and members of the media. It is truly an honour to be here today at the press conference of the 20th Malaysia International Branding Showcase (MIBS 2025). I wish to congratulate the organizer, the Malaysia Promas International Business Society (PROMAS), for continuously providing a strong international platform that connects Malaysian businesses with global markets.”
He emphasized the growing importance of the Halal industry in Malaysia, describing it as one of the nation’s most dynamic and influential sectors — extending far beyond food and beverages to encompass cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, logistics, and lifestyle products.
“The Halal concept represents integrity, quality, and trust — values that align perfectly with MIBS’s mission to elevate Malaysian brands to the global stage.”
“The global Halal economy continues to grow rapidly, offering immense potential for Malaysia to expand its presence in international markets. I encourage all participants to leverage MIBS 2025 as a gateway to new partnerships, greater visibility, and long-term collaboration within the global Halal ecosystem.”
“In closing, I would like to once again commend the organizers for their efforts and vision. I believe MIBS 2025 will not only promote Malaysian brands globally but also reinforce our nation’s reputation as a trusted leader in the Halal industry.”
Speech by Mr. Robbin Hou, General Manager of Taizhou Cross-Border E-Commerce Malaysia Show Centre
“Distinguished Datuk Chang Choong Kit, esteemed guests, and friends from the media, good afternoon! I am Hou Hongbing, the Head of the Taizhou Cross-Border E-Commerce Malaysia Exhibition and Sales Center. It is a great honor to be here today at the 20th Malaysia International Branding Showcase (MIBS 2025), the 2nd Malaysia Import & Export Commodity Fair, and the 4th Malaysia Cross-Border E-Commerce Selection Expo to share and communicate with all of you.”
Mr. Hou shared the successful journey of collaboration between China and Malaysia, particularly through the efforts of the Taizhou Cross-Border E-Commerce Malaysia Exhibition and Sales Centre, which has played an active role in expanding Chinese enterprises into Southeast Asia.
“Through the Malaysia International Branding Showcase, we have successfully facilitated the establishment of hundreds of Chinese enterprises in Malaysia or helped them re-export to other countries via Malaysia — contributing meaningfully to economic cooperation and development between China and Malaysia.”
He highlighted the rapid rise of cross-border e-commerce, noting how businesses are embracing new digital trade models to go beyond traditional export frameworks.
In December 2022, the first Malaysia Cross-Border E-Commerce Selection Expo was held concurrently with the 17th MIBS, where 70 Chinese companies participated alongside major platforms like Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok — adding a strong digital dimension to the branding showcase.
Following its success, the Taizhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce in Zhejiang, China, commissioned an in-depth study of Malaysia’s e-commerce market in 2024. This led to the establishment of the Malaysia Cross-Border E-Commerce Exhibition and Sales Center, which began operations in July 2025.
“To date, we have assisted 13 Taizhou enterprises in entering the Malaysian market and starting e-commerce operations through the TikTok platform.”
Mr. Hou also emphasized that their goal is mutual prosperity and win-win cooperation, not competition.
“We guide Chinese enterprises to focus on the B2B market — offering high-quality, affordable products to local businesses — rather than directly entering the B2C market.”
By collaborating closely with TikTok, the team connects Chinese merchants with Malaysian influencers and partners, creating new employment opportunities and enriching Malaysia’s consumer landscape.
“We sincerely hope that more like-minded local e-commerce professionals will join us in partnership, so that together we can achieve mutual growth and success.”

A Truly International Showcase
This year, MIBS 2025 will host international pavilions representing major provinces across China — including Zhejiang, Guangxi, Shenzhen, Yunnan, and Guangzhou — alongside exhibitors from Korea, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Thailand, Japan, and many other countries.
The diverse participation underscores Malaysia’s position as a strategic gateway for cross-border trade and investment in the ASEAN region.
World Hakka Expo Pavilion: Where Culture Meets Commerce
One of the most anticipated highlights this year is the World Hakka Expo Pavilion — a unique cultural and business showcase that celebrates Hakka heritage, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
This dedicated space will bring together Hakka organizations and enterprises from Malaysia, China, and beyond, fostering deeper collaboration under the theme:
“Connecting Heritage with Global Trade.”
The Pavilion promises a blend of tradition, creativity, and opportunity — offering visitors a chance to experience how cultural identity can inspire global business growth.
Empowering Entrepreneurs & Expanding Horizons
As one of the region’s premier import and export trade platforms, MIBS 2025 plays a crucial role in helping both local and international exhibitors expand their networks and explore emerging markets.
Through business matching sessions, trade forums, and networking opportunities, participants will gain valuable market insights and build strategic partnerships that could redefine their business future.
